Jason McArthur
Team Co-founder and younger Brother of Doug McArthur Jr.
Jason has been fishing since a very young age, and took special interest in Bass fishing about 1990 when he was 12 years old. It was that year when his family moved to the California Mother Lode. That's where he found a plentiful supply of Bass to be caught and released in the ponds around Rancho Calaveras and in nearby New Hogan Reservoir and Lake Camanche. He was able to learn the ropes of bass fishing from a friend and neighbor that was within walking distance of his home. He spent many days fishing the area, including school days as soon as he could get off the bus at home he was headed for the ponds. Today he still lives in the Mother Lode and spends time on the water fishing from his 17 foot Bass Tracker aluminum boat powered by a Mercury 40hp motor. Of course like many of us, he's all grown up and married now, has a regular day job and a home of his own. But if you start talking to him about fishing the in Mother Lode, he will no doubt tell you all about the one that got away. But he will also show you several photos of fish he has caught and released over the years, all the way back before High School even. He is not into having to the newest high-tech fishing gear, he actually prefers to fish with simple setups. But somehow he always manages to hook them, even when I tell him there is no way he will get a fish there, he sets the hook and just laughs at me. I will be adding more pictures of his adventures as I get them uploaded in the future.
His lures of choice are simple worming techniques and crank baits along the rocks and rip rap.
